Professional Background

Jordyn Griffin is a LASSO Fellow with the Nevada Department of Indigent Defense Services, operating under Nevada Supreme Court Rule 49.5. In this role, she represents indigent clients in rural Nevada communities in both criminal defense and civil litigation matters. Jordyn recently graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, Boyd School of Law and sat for the Nevada Bar exam in July 2025. 


Her prior legal experience includes serving as a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Gloria M. Navarro of the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada, a Legislative Extern at the 2025 Nevada Legislature, a Law Clerk working on personal injury cases, and a Student Attorney for both the Survivor Representation & Advocacy Clinic and in Douglas County Indigent defense work under Nevada Supreme Court Rule 49.3. She has drafted motions and briefs, conducted legal research, prepared legislative reports, and represented clients in court proceedings under supervision.


Jordyn earned dual B.A. degrees in Journalism and International Relations, with minors in Spanish Linguistics and Economics, from the University of Nevada, Reno. She was awarded the Doris Sinofsky Outstanding Electronic Media Student Award, the Justice Michael L. Douglas Prelaw Fellowship, and multiple Nevada Broadcasters Association Scholarships. She also studied abroad at ORT University in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Representative Experience

  • Assisted representation of defendant indigent clients in Douglas County criminal cases ranging from misdemeanor offenses to felony offenses.


  • Represented TPO petitioners in TPO court to get TPO extensions for clients through the UNLV Thomas and Mack Law Survivorship Clinic contested competency hearing resulting in a full dismissal
