Max Stovall, Nevada Attorney with Offices in Reno and Minden

Max Stovall

Attorney

Max Stovall was born and raised in Reno, NV where he graduated from Spanish Springs High School in 2007 and the University of Nevada, Reno in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He went to Mississippi College School of Law, where he received an above full-ride scholarship to attend. Max graduated with honors in 2016, and distinguished himself in his family law class by being offered a teaching assistant position for that class the next semester. During his time at law school, he interned as a law clerk to Judge Fair of the Mississippi Court of Appeals.

Immediately after graduation, Max passed the Summer 2016 Nevada Bar and went to work for the distinguished Judge David Hardy as his law clerk. After his clerkship, Max moved to Winnemucca and became a Deputy District Attorney for the Humboldt County District Attorney’s Office. As a prosecutor, Max attended Court each day where he earned valuable experience on how to effectively argue a case. In the over two years he spent as a prosecutor, Max was lead counsel in countless bench trials, second chair to many jury trials, and five jury trials for a variety of misdemeanors and felonies. Of his five jury trials, Max won each case. While not in court, Max drafted numerous pleadings—including several briefs to the Nevada Supreme Court—and taught various classes for law enforcement.

Max has since opened his own firm, with locations in Reno and Minden, which is a dream come true. He covers primarily criminal matters. He believes in working collaboratively with his clients to reach a fair settlement. But when no fair settlement can be reached, he is ready to use his litigation experience in both areas of the law to obtain the best result for his clients. He is thrilled to work alongside such talented colleagues in his same building. He is also happy to be back in Reno, where he is closer to his family and church friends.
